WHY MIGRANTS NFT?
THE A IN W.A.G.M.I.
WAGMI (We’re All Gonna Make It) is an oft-repeated mantra within the NFT community.
In truth, not everybody has an equal chance of being onboarded to enjoy the possibilities that NFTs/crypto bring. Low-wage migrant workers (or foreign domestic workers) fall into this group.
MIGRANTS NFT aims to create NFTs based on powerful stories from the migrant worker community. From photographs at construction sites to poetry by domestic helpers, every collection is a curated series of work involving migrant artists.

As this is not a charity, everyone who contributes to this project will be remunerated accordingly.
The eventual goal is for migrant workers to take ownership of Migrants NFT and tell their own stories in web3.
Because we are all gonna make it.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
F A Q
Q: WHAT ARE NFTs?
A: Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are unique items that exist on a blockchain to represent digital content. Owning an NFT means you have documented proof that you own a particular digital content on the internet.
The common use cases for NFTs are collectibles, art and in-game items currently. Other growing applications to look out for include proof of attendance for events (e.g. POAP) and domain names (e.g. ENS). More about NFTs here.
Q: WHY NFTs?
A: The NFT space enables creators to build and be rewarded for building. Here, migrant artists can build their own (global) community around their art and stories, which would otherwise be overlooked in the real world.
Q: MUST I HOLD CRYPTO TO SUPPORT THIS PROJECT?
A: The launch of our first collection, Dreaming, will be on the Foundation NFT marketplace, which is on the Ethereum blockchain. Which means that you’ll need the cryptocurrency, Ether(ETH), to purchase an NFT from our collection. Here’s a guide on getting ETH.
This might change in the future, depending on the nature of launches.
Q: IS THIS A CHARITY PROJECT?
A: No. Migrants NFT is not a charity. We hope that the NFTs will be valuable because of its quality and strength of story-telling. They should not be bought or sold because of charitable reasons. The goal of Migrants NFT is to remunerate everyone involved in building the project and community fairly. This incentivises people to take ownership to build the community.
Q: HOW IS FAIR RENUMERATION ENSURED?
A: We pledge 100% transparency regarding the project funds. All transactions (fiat and crypto) will be made publicly available and shared with the community for scrutiny. While splits for each project differ depending on the nature of project, it will be made known to the public once discussed and agreed upon with artists and builders involved.
Q: I’D LIKE TO CONTRIBUTE. HOW CAN I HELP?
A: We’re in the early phases of building. So, help is definitely welcome. Reach out to us if you can assist in these areas:
- Engineering (especially if you have experience with smart contracts)
- Crypto Education (to help create a fun and engaging onboarding experience)
- Community Mod (especially if you have experience with other NFT projects)
- Hands-on-Deck (bonus if you speak any of these languages: Tagalog, Bengali, Tamil, Bahasa Indonesia)
Other contributions are welcome too! Just email us at migrantsNFT[at]gmail[dot]com.
Q: WHAT ROLE D0 THE MIGRANT ARTISTS PLAY?
A: Migrant artists are involved in every Migrants NFT collection. The eventual goal is for migrant workers to take ownership and tell their own stories in metaverse.
